Official guidance for the Tourism & Hospitality Skills Pass can change — and, as this guide has already found, official pages don't always agree with each other on the figures involved. Rather than silently editing pages, we record substantive content changes here, including newly discovered discrepancies, so returning readers can see what is new.

Added depth to the excluded-roles page after re-reading the Skills Pass FAQs, the tourism homepage and the tourism user guidelines. The page now sets out how those pages describe the wider requirement (working within the Hospitality Industry or with an MTA-licensed establishment, with exceptions for certain occupations), what they leave open, including that no page states an MTA licence as the only test, the differences between pages on who the requirement covers and which email address to use, and that the guidelines are informative only and the published legal notice governs.

Re-checked the study hub index and its revision tools against the Skills Pass sector site read on 2026-10-01. Counts now distinguish scored practice questions from quick-review prompts, the mock test is described as drawn from the combined question bank, the recall coach explains when cards return and where progress is stored (this browser's local storage), and the checklist button is named for what it does. The study hub now shows a review date of 2026-10-01.

Re-checked the seven study topics and their quick-review and practice questions against the Skills Pass sector site, the general site and Identità's Pre-Departure Course page, all read on 2026-10-01. The topics no longer say Phase 1 is self-paced or that Phase 2 is unlocked, that the Skills Pass is a readiness assessment rather than a vocational qualification, that the interview assesses two things simultaneously or asks scenario-based questions, or that particular topics are likely to be tested. They now give the published question types (true-or-false questions about Phase 1 and open-ended questions about English conversation and occupation abilities), say that official pages describe the interview's length and format differently, and label this hub's scenarios and answer structures as original practice. Specific legal, numerical, institutional, heritage and medical claims in the food safety, hospitality, customer service, Malta tourism and workplace safety topics that no official source supports were removed or softened, and the practice questions were reworked to match. These topics now show a review date of 2026-10-01.

Re-checked every claim on the homepage and its FAQs against Identità's Pre-Departure Course page, the Skills Pass general site's obtaining guide and FAQs, and the tourism information site's process, FAQ, home, user-guidelines and certification pages, all read on 2026-10-01. The homepage no longer says the courses are self-paced, when the 42 days start, that most readers need both requirements, that the Pre-Departure certificate has no expiry, or that the interview is a live video interview. It now states where the sources differ beside the figures and claims they affect: the Phase 2 payment (the sector page says both to pay €250 and that no additional payment is required), the Pre-Departure fee (€245, €245 plus €5, €250), the interview's length and format, and whether certificates come through Blockcerts or Hyland. The permit pathways are restated with their conditions and the first FAQ is now conditional on the role. The homepage now shows Last checked 2026-10-01.

Re-checked certificate-platform and interview wording. The Tourism & Hospitality certification page and FAQ still point to Blockcerts for certificate issuance and wallet storage, while one general Skills Pass page still names Hyland; the guide continues to state the discrepancy rather than declaring one official page stale. Interview wording also remains inconsistent across official pages, so the guide now gives the more precise 20-minute online/ITS or authorised-centre wording alongside the 30-minute onsite VFS-centre wording and directs readers to their own booking confirmation.

Re-checked the live official Skills Pass fee pages. The current Tourism & Hospitality fee table now states the Pre-Departure Course at €245, the Tourism and Hospitality Skills Pass at €230 including the €5 booking fee, and the Video Conference Interview with no additional payment. An earlier sentence on the same official page still says candidates book the Phase 2 interview and pay €250, so the guide now treats this as an internal official-page wording conflict rather than a separate fee to add to the total. The separate €230 vs €225/€475 discrepancy across the general Skills Pass pages remains.
