Overview
"Hotel worker" is not an option: what counts is your real job. The occupation list names receptionists, luggage porters, bar waiters, commis chefs and commis de rang. The excluded jobs include cleaners, kitchen porters and staff in accounts, marketing, HR and stores. If you already hold a valid Maltese work permit, you may be exempt for now.
Check before you register or pay
If your employer says you need the Skills Pass, email info@skillspass.org.mt with your job description and ask whether your job and workplace are covered.
Common questions
I work in a hotel — do I definitely need the Skills Pass?
Not definitely. The official FAQ says people working in tourism and hospitality need it, except some excluded jobs (such as cleaners and kitchen porters). If you already hold a valid Maltese work permit, you may be exempt for now. Check your real job, not the title "hotel worker".
Which hotel jobs are covered by the Skills Pass?
The occupation options are Receptionist, Luggage Porter, Bar Waiter, Commis Chef and Commis de Rang. There is also "Other": if your job is not listed, email info@skillspass.org.mt. So the list is not every job that needs it. See the role guides.
Which hotel jobs are not on the covered list?
Cleaners and kitchen porters are excluded, and so are staff in accounts, marketing, HR and stores. Housekeepers, room attendants and kitchen helpers are not named either way. Ask Skills Pass about those.

There is no official rule for mixed jobs. Send your real job description to info@skillspass.org.mt and ask which option applies, or whether you are excluded, before you register or pay.
